Project HOPE: COVID-19 Medical Volunteer Opportunities

Chicago, IL: Long-term Care Facilities Volunteer Opportunities

In partnership with the City of Chicago and Cook county, Project HOPE volunteers will visit long-term care facilities to help bolster efforts to educate staff in infection prevention control (IPC) measures and achieve acceptable standards for prevention of COVID-19 transmission and service delivery where they do not exist. After the initial assessment, volunteers will mentor LTCF staff in appropriate mitigating measures to manage their areas of responsibility.

Medical volunteer opportunities: Project HOPE is looking for clinicians with experience in clinical education, long-term care/geriatrics, infection control and/or adult acute care/ICU/step-down unit. Background in public health and Spanish language skills desired. Deployment would be for a minimum of two weeks and transportation, lodging, and meals are provided.

Harris County, TX: Volunteer Nurses Needed in Hospitals

Project HOPE has partnered with Harris Health in Houston, TX to provide clinical support given the increase in COVID cases.

Medical volunteer opportunities: RNs with ER, ICU, medsurg experience; remote opportunities available to support nurse lines and other support roles. Deployment would be for a minimum of two weeks and transportation, lodging, and meals are provided.

Montgomery County, MD: Volunteer Opportunities in Rapid Response and Mobile Testing Teams

In collaboration with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), volunteers will integrate with population health rapid response teams and/or mobile testing teams to help address COVID-19 hotspots within the county. Volunteers will work in partnership with social workers to identify and conduct COVID-19 related outreach to vulnerable people, families, communities and facilities, and coordinate medical referrals when necessary. Volunteers may also support Montgomery County’s efforts to scale up testing efforts and potentially antibody testing using approved testing methodologies and specimen collection.

Medical volunteer opportunities: Project HOPE is seeking clinical volunteers, i.e. LPN, RN, MD, DO, and EMTs, to support these efforts. Deployment would be for a minimum of two weeks and transportation, lodging, and meals are provided.
